Pre West Travels
When we retired we decided we wanted to see parts of the U.S. we had never seen. We considered doing it in an RV. Being boaters for decades the thought of an RV was not too far removed from what we had been doing...making repairs in exotic places! After about a year and a half we decided to get an Airstream travel trailer. Why? We wanted to get somewhere and then have wheels to travel around. We could unhook the Airstream and use our truck like a car. While offering other advantages, the A-class (bus) would not be easy to move around in traffic and we didn't want to tow a car. So, we bought a Ford F-150 Pickup and found an Airstream 25' Safari. We have named her "Cream Puff." Joy Greer, one of our dear friends, named it. When we called she and husband, Todd, I told them we had found "a used Airstream that was a cream puff." This was how it was described to us by our "Birddog", Jim Johnson, who had searched for and found the trailer. When we took Todd and Joy to see it, Joy saw the "Safari" on the side and said "It's not a cream puff, its a Safari!" So, we had to name it "Cream Puff." Todd and Joy are our long-time sailing buddies with whom we've taken sailing vacations on our boats together for over 25 years. So, this blog is going to be about our travels on Cream Puff!
Cream Puff in South Florida. We bought it from a nice Canadian couple who used it to spend the winters in South Florida. We said "Ehhh, Okay" after every sentence for weeks after meeting them.
This is my first attempt at blogging. I must give credit to our childhood and longtime friend, Missie Cooper. Missie is a dear friend who is just adventurous enough to sometimes join us on our exploits, is an excellent photographer and writer and has blogger experience. Thanks to Missie for prompting us in starting our blogosphere experience. So, here we go!
