October 3, 2014 Friday   From Cloverdale, CA to San Fran Bay Area

We had just over 100 miles to go today.  We planned it that way because we were hoping to arrive in the San Francisco area after the early morning traffic jams.   We arrived, right on time, for the mid-day traffic jams.  It was not nearly as bad as Seattle and soon we were on the 880 South and the traffic got a little easier as we entered the South Bay area.

We got settled in our RV Park, another city park with all asphalt lot.  This is definitely a place just to stay while you visit relatives or do business or whatever.  We are not in a destination resort!  We called French III and made arrangements to arrive at their house tomorrow at 10:00am.  This would give us plenty of time to get set to watch Bama beat Ole Miss.  Of course, this didn't happen but we were set for it!

We've learned that Mary Elizabeth, our niece, is under the weather but we still have plans to get together.

October 4, 2014 Saturday  Palo Alto Area

We arrive at French and JJ's house a little after 10:00 AM.  It was great to see the family.  Our great nephew, Daniel, is now 7 and great neice, Elizabeth (Eliza) will be 5 next month.  They live in a nice home with a huge living room area that is perfect for watching football and doing family stuff.

French and I make a quick run to Safeway to get lunch items and snacks for the ballgame which was to start at 12:30 PM PCT.   French has his Bama hat on and I have my Bama shirt.  JJ has her Alabama shirt on.
French, J.J. and Lib getting ready for the Bama Game

OK, lets get the Bama game out of the way.  We lost!  But, French and I have concluded that it was because Ole Miss is a lot better than everyone thought.  We have now picked them getting beat by Auburn and Mississippi State so Bama can get back in the race for the West.  Of course, we have to figure out who is going to beat Auburn and Mississippi State!

We talked to French and Carolyn and we all consoled one another.
Maggie managed her emotions over the football shenanigans by sleeping through the entire game.

Daniel and Eliza are live wires...typical Yarbroughs!  Not a quiet moment and a whirlwind of action!
Daniel is always working diligently on some project.
 Eliza and Daniel being "still"

Daniel decided it was time to teach his Great Aunt Libbo how to play Pokeman.
Lib's says her Pokeman was confused!

After Pokeman, it was time for Great Uncle Ron to read Garfield books.
As usual, Daniel never lets a minute remain idle.  When he slowed down, he built bracelets using his bracelet weaving gizmo.
And Eliza occasionally rolled up in her blanket.

After a lively day at the Yarbrough household we went to the RV Park to show the kids Cream Puff.

Mary Elizabeth was still sick so we were sorry we didn't get to see her.

October 5, 2014  Sunday  Palo Alto, CA

We spent another full day with French, J.J., Daniel and Eliza.  We talked to Mary Elizabeth this am but she was still very sick.  Sounds like the flu to us.

We are very impressed with French and JJ's parenting skills.  The kids get well balanced meals...no Pop Tarts in this household!  Check out Eliza's lunch plate.  Of course, rice is a mainstay and no one can cook it like J.J. Yum!

We made a trip to see the school where French and J.J. teach.  They actually teach in rooms that are almost next door to each other and the school is only 5 minutes from their house.  It is a perfect situation for them.  Eliza goes to this school.

After we got the classroom tour French worked with Eliza on learning her biking skills and we played football pitch with Daniel.
She got going by herself and I think a bike is in the near future!

We had another full day with the Yarbroughs and we left them about 4PM to allow them to get ready for their busy upcoming week (Daniel squeezed in his piano lesson while we were visiting).  We loved getting to visit them in their home.  We sure did miss Mary Bo but will catch up with her later.
We love them all very much.

Now, Ron and I are getting ready to go to Yosemite National Park.  We need to get ready ourselves!
